You Can’t Have It Both Ways

Al McCartan by Al McCartan

When it rains like heck,
You start to complain,
I wish the sun would come out again.
Sheesh! You can’t have it both ways.

You’re slighty obese
and wish you were thin
When mealtime comes round,
You hog right in
Thinking you’ll be as thin as a pin.
Mate, you can’t have it both ways.

You’ve got sweet blonde
But wish for brunette
Or is it a gal with hair fiery red
Or, even a spiky-haired lady instead.
Ease up, mate, you can’t have it both ways.

You’ve got a Holden
But hoped for a Ford,
Maybe a Toyota
Or, Honda Accord
A Beamer, a Merc
A Rolls, praise the lord.
Drive what you’ve got, mate
You can’t have it both ways.

So, you’re tired of living
And wished you were dead
How’d that crazy idea
Get into your head.
Enjoy life, mate
You can’t have it both ways.
