Bonzer with BonzerPlus

Globe

Bonzer with Bonzerplus is a free online magazine and blog published in Australia, but readily available to readers and writers all over the world.

From our first issue, July 1, 2001, our name told our story. Bonzer is an Australian slang word meaning excellent; our aim from the start is to provide a high quality magazine with entertaining and informative stories, articles, columns and photographs . . .  particularly enjoyed by readers with many years of life experience, but of interest to all ages.

On the occasion of  our first birthday, Alan Wheatley, founder and managing editor, put it in writing: a “mission statement” if you will:

Bonzer is an ezine aimed at seniors. Its general aims are to empower and entertain its readership.

Bonzer has no party-political or religious affiliations. That is not to say that it will never allow discussion of political or religious issues. But it will avoid dogma and proselytising. Extreme views, as adjudged by the editor, will not be published.

For five years Bonzer thrived, rather sedately, as an international ezine. In the sixth year we added our blog, Bonzerplus, and for almost another five years we have never stopped chatting. Bonzer with Bonzerplus continue to remain happily together, but separate.

The sidebar on the Home Page is the magic carpet between the two sections. Bonzer, our traditional ezine, sponsors the Regulars category, bursting with columns and features. Bonzerplus, while still blogging with gusto, also delights readers with Creative Writing and Thinking & Talking. Writers, refer to the Guidelines for details.

Bloggers, browse the Recent Comment list in the sidebar for inspiration. At the end of each article is a place for a comment, or a comment on a comment, or a ….. you get the drift.

Happy Reading,

Gloria MacKay

Editor
